General Conference Thoughts

Spring is here! Birds are singing, bugs are crawling, and flowers are blooming. However, the earth feels still. We are still at home.

Luckily, there was an event to attend from home today. I had the opportunity to listen to the worldwide broadcast of General Conference. For those who don't know, it is a biannual public broadcast by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a two-day conference in which leaders of the church share messages of Christ and hope as directed by the Spirit.

Today's messages left me with a sense of hope for the future and what is to come. It encouraged us to seek the Savior, strengthen our foundation, and remember that after darkness comes light. We were also reminded that revelation from God has not ceased. He leads and directs His church and if we will listen He will lead and direct us in our life.

I mentioned in my previous post that we recently fasted for relief from suffering caused by the pandemic. The prophet invited us to show our faith to the Lord and fast again on April 10th. As we abstain from food for 2 meals or 24 hours we join our faith together in fasting and prayer again for relief from this pandemic. I know that the Lord hears and answers our prayers and I extend the invitation to fast to anyone willing to join with us. The future ahead is bright. Right now we are in a time of difficulty, but we will get through it.

Tomorrow is the last day of the conference. It starts at 10 am Central Time. You don't want to miss it! You can stream it at https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/?lang=eng
