How To Style A Picnic For Two

Image
Summer weather calls for a fancy picnic. I styled this picnic for International picnic day and am going to share all of the little details that made this scene magical. Start with a dreamy location. Think lakeside, mountain viewpoint, garden, beach, fireside, forest, etc. The earth is beautiful so no matter where you're located you've got somewhere scenic near you. Find your perfect spot and start planning. I chose a picnic just before sunset at Shoreline Lake Park in Mountain View, Ca. To create this specific look you need to put work into it. I custom built this table. You can do it too. Get the full DIY tutorial  here . If you don't want to do all the DIY a small coffee table could do the trick. The star of the show here was the Charcuterie board! The actual board was a bit of a hack. The total cost of the marble platter was about $3.50 I used a porcelain  floor tile from Home Depot and scrap wood. On the table saw I rip cut the wood strips into thin pieces that would f...

Styling Baby's First Birthday

Image
If you are brave enough to take on this photoshoot be prepared for chaos! But the end result is perfection. This little party came together with lots of love, planning, purchasing, and DIY-ing. Originally I had talked to my friend about doing a combined birthday for our babies. Well, then Covid happened and it looked like I would just be planning Autumn's. Planning: To begin the planning process I created a mood board. For details on how I created my mood board + links to each product check out my  mood board  post. I also included a few tips on how to create your own. With a mood board settled I started purchasing items. I purchased most of the items that were straight from the mood board, but I'll share where and why I deviate...

8 Stunning Picnic Spots In The Bay Area

Image
International picnic day was this past week! In celebration I've compiled a list of my favorite Bay area scenic locations that are asking for a picnic! Cannery Row It's no secret that I think Monterey is hands down the best city in the Bay area. It is such a classy area and the beaches are beautiful! This gorgeous spot is right off of cannery row in front of Ghirardelli! We ate on the balcony, but it would be so dreamy to grab one of the many food options from cannery row and set up right in the sand! Natural Bridges State Beach The sunsets here are life changing! After your picnic this spot has tide pools and a path where you can see Monarchs during their migrating season. Ed R. Levin County Park Head up by the Mountains and watch the Great Blue Heron fly over the lake while you munch on some grapes. Watch out for the ducks they are very friendly and are interested in sharing your food!  Big Basin Redwoods State Park Located in t...
